Best Local Marietta Ohio Hotels

You could stay at the Super 8 or Baymont by Wyndham Marietta just off I-77, but we recommend avoiding the chains and staying the night at one of these unique and local Marietta Ohio hotels, experiencing the smalltown charm of their cozy accommodations…

The Lafayette

A historical landmark, The Lafayette in downtown is one of our favorite Marietta Ohio hotels. It rests on the banks of the Ohio River, so you have the same view of the water as the early settlers did in 1788.

More than a century old, the historic hotel acquired its name from the Marquis de Lafayette, an American Revolution hero who visited in 1825. Taking pride in the area’s riverboat heritage, various rooms are home to interesting artifacts.

The Lafayette has 77 rooms, each with a unique theme. You can take advantage of dry cleaning and laundry services during your stay, as well as the cardio and strength training equipment in the fitness center.

Before you leave to explore Marietta in the morning, you can grab a hot breakfast at the Gun Room Dining Room, which features steamboat artifacts and a famous collection of long rifles.

Also, the hotel’s Riverfront Bar & Grill is one of the best restaurants in Marietta Ohio, and is a wonderful place to get lunch and dinner.

During your stay, you’re treated to complimentary valet service and access to a fitness center and a library.

One of the most stunning features, though, is the Atrium. It’s located at the heart of the hotel on the third floor and has a skylight that allows natural light to pour in.

The decor is a combination of 20th-century and modern furnishings and conveniences. It has antique furniture, brick walls, and high ceilings.
